Clamping down on the Purple team's leading scorer early was the key to success for Red. This was their defense-enomics. They kept pursuing him like he was the incumbent that didn't want to debate. Red's strong defense allowed them to get out to a 27-17 half time advantage. Red's new ideology this season is Just Win Baby! They kept it going in the second half which opened up their running game. Purple just seemed to be running for office. Red left with a landslide victory, 55-33. Rather than putting a spin on it, Purple's manager was graceful in defeat but lobbied for a rematch. Fortunately they won't have to wait four years.

In a matchup of two teams both looking for their first win, they fought evenly in the first half. Silver finished the period with a slight edge, 31-30 thanks to their leading scorer hitting three triples. It also helped that they were only called for one foul. The refs decided to filibuster even more in the second half, calling only one foul on Silver and two on Green. Since the tempo was set with three point shots flying in the opening session, seven more were made in the second half - four of them by Silver. Green struggled to keep pace and went down to a 17 point defeat, 61-43. Afterwards they said they had no intentions of pulling out of the race. It's too early in the season to throw in the towel and there'll be no impeachments.

Blue and Gold had a tightly contested first half with Blue holding a six point lead at intermission, 27-21. In the 2nd half Blue was poised to hold off any threats but inexplicably went cold. Gold saw the opening, hit a few three's and steadily gained ground. Gold used two subs and didn't miss a beat. They rallied their troops, eventually taking the lead from Blue and never gave it back. Gold put Blue at the foul line near the end but still comfortably held them back and left the court with a 57-48 win. This ended up being the closest game of the night. Gold evened their record at 1i-i1 and gave them a renewed confidence after their poor primary performance the week before.

The polling came out and White appears to be the powerhouse of this season despite playing without their manager for the second week in a row. Orange stayed with them early and found themselves down by only a point at the half, 27-26. With a relentless defense, White locked things down in the second half and Orange couldn't open the door. The center for Orange found himself in foul trouble and White took advantage, pulling away for their second straight convincing victory of the season, 61-45. They may be thinking ahead to their match up with Red in week five as they're the only two undefeated teams left. Looking past Silver next week could be a huge mistake.
