Winter Season Rules |
| 1_Games
to consist of two 19 minute halves.
Clock stops on all whistles and restarts when the ball is touched
in bounds. Teams will have two time outs per
game and one added time out
for overtime. Overtime is decided by
the first team to score seven points. After an offensive
team timeout, there is the option to
take the ball out at half court vs. the baseline. During
the last two minutes of a game both
teams will shoot one and one on defensive
fouls. Upon 10 or more team fouls, the opposing team will be awarded
two foul shots. All players entering the game must wait at mid-court
until a whistle is blown or score keeper horn sounds and play is
stopped. 2_Line-ups
including last names and #'s are to be turned in to the scorekeeper
before each game. Ratings are to be given for missing players
and subs. All players on a team are to wear the same color shirt
with a number. Managers may sign and photo the final score sheet
for file.
3_All
players are to play at least 16 minutes
per game. All players are to
sit a minimum of six minutes each half.
Any participant that is ejected from a game cannot play in theirs
or any other teams next scheduled game or the succeeding game
will be a team forfeit. If the ejected player is rated 9.5, the
sub can be 8.5. If rated 9.0, sub can be an 8.0. If 8.5, 8.0,
or 7.5, sub can be 7.5. Throwing a punch or fighting is a 3 game
suspension with committee review for possible expulsion.
4_No
sub is required however attempts should be made to acquire one.
A substitute player may play a 2nd game for a full time player
of similar rating on another team. If no sub is available for
a missing player a full time player may sub in and play a 2nd
game for someone of similar or higher rating. In the event that
a player is permanently replaced for the season, the successor
player shall pay the pro-rata share of league fees. If a player
has an injury that may prevent him from playing in his next game,
he must advise his manager at least one day in advance of his
playing status. No “stand by
game time subs” are permitted
for possible pre-injured player replacement.
5_All
players are to provide full name, phone number and email address
and to update if there are changes. All fee balances are to be
paid no later than the first game. The total 2022-2023 fee is
$290.00 per player (for 24 games). There will be additional player
fees incurred if the facilities are not vacated by the designated
time. Eastpointe, Sterling Heights and St John are to be vacated
by 8:45 pm. Cleanliness is mandatory at the facilities.

Game
1 In
the first game of the night it was the
only one of all four that was played without substitutes. Congrats to
the health of both teams. White was like a school
of piranha chewing up the Purple team. They made six 3 pointers
in the first half to take a 40-24 lead. It left
the Purple manager asking if it was Miller time yet . . . and he didn't
have anyone named Miller on his team. If that wasn't bad enough, White
made seven more 3's in the second half to keep Purple underwater. White
swam away with a 77-56 win to close out their season

Game
2 Gold had suffered
disappointing losses in the first two rounds of the playoffs. They were
determined to go out on a high note. While spreading the scoring around
Gold hit five 3 pointers and carved out a six point lead over Red at
intermission. Gold was able to hit three more in the second half while
Red was only able to make one all game. Red did fight hard and made
this the closest game of the night before getting hooked 59-53. After
losing their last eight games the Red manager was left to ask "When
can we start the summer league?"

Game
3
After having less than stellar seasons Silver and Green both wanted
to go out with a win. The Silver manager used his angler's luck to pull
up three key subs and they all made contributions as they darted out
to a 36-24 half time advantage. Green attempted to make a game of it
but couldn't wriggle off the line while using only six players. The
result was predictable as their games fell off even further in the second
half. Too many unforced errors by Green led to Silver taking the game
76-47.

Game
4 The
anticipation leading up to the championship game was grabbing a lot
of attention. Unfortunately as it so often happens the game didn't match
the billing. After carrying Lt Blue throughout the season their center
was unable to play. Their manager was also hobbled by physical problems
and attempted to will himself through the game. Blue showed no mercy
while thrashing Lt Blue in the opening session, doubling them up 36-18.
Lt Blue did get a good game from one of their subs but the Blue defense
clamped down on the rest of the team making sure no one else scored
more than six. Both teams had two subs but the well balanced scoring
attack of Blue was just too much. The season ended as it started with
Blue taking the game hook, line and sinker with a dominating 67-38 victory.
